映画のラストシーンで

流れたとき、



あまりに

そのラストに

この曲が美しくマッチしていて

とても不思議だった。


映画では

他人や自分を傷つけていくことしかできない少女を

愛してしまった少女が

最後に湖でその少女の願いを叶える。



たとえ、その後の人生が孤独になるとわかっていても。



あるいは、願いを叶えることが、彼女にとっての

二人で一緒に生きていくという選択だったのかもしれない。





クランベリーズのこの曲は



ひとりの心の喪失を

うたっているような詩だけれど、


実はアイルランド紛争のことも

同時にうたっていると

いわれている。
